Analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) of a business is a well-established tool that is widely used by academics, consultants, and advisors. Although it is a simple concept, business owners often struggle when trying to use it because it is so broad. It is difficult to determine where to start, what questions to ask, and where to focus. The obvious problems get attention while many other important issues get overlooked. SWOT analysis is a great tool, but its effective use requires additional structure.
There are three main steps that you will have to follow if you are hoping for successful grant seeking.
Private grants come from both foundations and corporations. There are more than 65,000 private grant foundations in the United States. Every year, they award more than $20 billion to those people who ask for it. Federal law mandates that foundations must give away 5 percent of their market value assets or interest income each year, whichever of these amounts is greater.
Unless you are loaded with cash, chances are that you will need some financial help in order to get all of the things that you will need to start your business. This section is going to help you to get all of the things that you will need to do in order to give yourself the best chance at getting the funding that you will need. First of all, you are going to have to plan out your business ideas and goals so that you can create an effective business plan. It is going to be your business plan that will inevitably decide if you are able to get the funding that you need.
The government grant is a very big program that the government has set up for business owners or potential business owners to get free money. The best part is that the money is tax free and never has to be repaid. Once you know how and where to apply for a specific business grant the results are almost inevitable. The government wants to give away this money because it is under congressional mandate to do it. It means that Congress forces the government to give away these grants. These funds are made available to help you, the taxpayer for almost any reason. All that’s required from you is the proper presentation of your grant request.
